Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne are both injured and will not be available early in the season.

“Phil will be gone for a while. The pain was not mild at all. We have to be very careful,” said Pep. I think he will come back sooner than Phil, but both of them won’t be ready for a while.”
“Today the manager of a big club has a lot of foreign players – we can’t do anything. We are here to deal with the team spirit as best we can. When you have 45 weeks to prepare.”
“Half of the team wasn’t ready and we weren’t complaining. It’s a joy to play in the Community Shield, I was lucky in my sixth season and my players know what they have to do.
“So it’s very difficult, the program is crazy, it’s very difficult.”
